Free: SLAM Underground Series. St. Louis Art Museum. Friday 7-10 pm. View new Nick Cave exhibition and hear music by Black James.

Mid-range: Mom’s Kitchen: Panic Tribute. Old Rock House. Saturday 9 pm, doors open at 8. $7 cover. Check out this funky local Widespread Panic tribute band.

Splurge: Lumiere Place Cajun Cook-off. Bud Light Party Centre in Soulard Market Park. Saturday from 12-4 pm. $35 advance tickets. Ten of St. Louis’ best chefs compete against each other to come up with the best Cajun-flavored dishes on the spot.
